MOVIT KAMPALA TALENT EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE (MKTEI)

The Movit talent search that returned for its second edition has seen 25 contestants battle for a grand prize of Ugx 7 Million. The contestants who were selected across the five divisions of Kampala were officially unveiled at a ceremony officiated by the Vice president of Uganda HE. Edward Sekandi held at the Front Page Hotel in Zzana. The contestants checked into the Movit Talent House on Sunday where they underwent a week of intense training. It is here that judges selected the best nine individuals who showcased their talent at the grand finale held at the Kampala City Festival.

According to Emmy Musasirane, Director Operations and Administration, Movit Products Limited noted that this initiative is one way they are giving back to the community.“This is a product we initiated with Balunywa Promotions to give back to the community,” he stated. “In appreciation of Kampala and surrounding areas, we decided to put some money aside to help young talented Ugandans, whose talents would have otherwise never seen the light of the day, to also come up.”Balunywa Juma, the brains behind the Movit Kampala Talent Excellence Initiative, said this project is aimed at giving rising talented singers a platform to get the much needed exposure.

Movit Products Limited together with Front Page Hotel gave out a total of seven million shillings to the finalists in which the winner took four million, the second runner up took two million and the third runner up went home with a million shillings. The awarding of the final 9 contestants will take place on the 24th of October 2017.
