MPL – Movit Products Limited is pleased to have participated in the 2019 Irene Gleeson Charity walk which was held in Kitgum – northern Uganda on 19th and 20th July 2019. At the event, the guests included the deputy speaker of the parliament of Uganda – Jacob Oulanyah, the state minister for foreign affairs Okello Oryem, the deputy Ambassador People’s Republic of China to Uganda and many others.
MPL also handed over a contribution of UGX 30million shillings to the Irene Gleeson foundation. The funds were received by Hon. Minister Okello Oryem and they will help in the construction of the Memorial public library in Kitgum.
The IGF charity walk also included visits to different hospitals to give away items. Some of the hospitals visited include Kitgum general hospital and St. Joseph hospital. Movit handed over 1000 gift hampers and items to the communities including schools, hospitals and prisons in Kitgum town.
The Charity walk was held on Saturday 20th July with the Ambassador of China as the chief walker who was represented by his deputy ambassador Chen Huixin. The walk started from the Memorial grounds through Kitgum town up-to the Kitgum play grounds. The Guest of honor – Hon. Jacob Oulanyah gave a brief speech on the main event at Kitgum playgrounds. Also in attendance was the former Archbishop of Uganda, his grace Henry Luke Orombi.
